• Apr 2025: Our CHI 2025 Paper on Algorithmic Social Media received an honorable mention! So impressed with the lead author, Ruyuan Wan!

• Apr 2025: Our DIS paper on Generative UI tools to support UX'ers was accepted. It was a fun collaboration with Anthony Chen and Yang Li

• Apr 2025: I gave a talk at Venture Cafe Tokyo on finding product market fit through UX Research 

• Mar. 2025: I'm excited to partner with SVB Boston and Boldstart Ventures to share my expertise on conducting UXR with the founders in the upcoming Inception Program cohort!

• Feb. 2025: Looking forward to giving talks on the implications of AI in the civic realm during my short tour of the UK at St. Andrews University and Northumbria University with my amazing hosts Miriam Sturdee and Anna Carter!

• Nov. 2024: I will attend CSCW 2024 as Accessibility Chair. Looking forward to connecting with the community in Costa Rica!
• Sept. 2024: Invited speaker and panelist for Reflections | Projections, the largest student-led tech conference in the Midwest
• Sept 2024: Invited to give two talks to graduate students in HCI at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Thank you, Prof. Sarah Sterman, for organizing!
• Aug. 2024: I am an AC for CHI 2025 Understanding People: Mixed and Alternative Methods
• July 2024: Our systematic literature review on bi-directional human-AI alignment is available on Arxiv. It was a wonderful collaboration across academia and industry

• June 2024: I served as an Accessibility Chair alongside amazing Stacy Brahnam at C&C2024!

• June 2024: Gave a guest lecture on AI and design for Foundations of Interactive Systems at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Thank you, Prof. Alexander Mädche for the invitation!

• Nov 2023: My amazing colleague Jimmy Lin​ presented our poster on Relay: A collaborative UI Model for design handoff at UIST 2023!

• Sept 2023: Co-organized and presented at Karlsruhe Institute for Technology in Karlsruhe, DE

• April 2023: I gave a Google Sponsor Invited Talk on "Transitioning from Academia to Industry" to an audience at the CHI 2023 Conference in Hamburg, DE

• Jan 2023: Excited that our case study led by my former student researcher, Yuwen Lu, has been accepted at CHI 2023!

 

2022​

• June 2022: Attended C&C 2022 in Venice, Italy and joined insightful discussions at the virtual brainstorming workshop

• May 2022: Attended CHI 2022 in person in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was wonderful to meet new and old friends post-pandemic

 

2017-2021 (Graduate School)​

• Dec 2021: I accepted a job as a UX Researcher at Google, working on the Material Design team

• Nov 2021: I passed my dissertation defense! Say hello to Dr. Knearem :D

• July 2021: Was accepted into the CI Fellows Program as a postdoctoral scholar at University of California San Diego

• May 2021: Started a summer UXR internship with GoogleAI on the AIUX team​

• Received the Penn State College of IST Award for Excellence in Teaching Support, which recognizes outstanding commitment to student learning, reflective teaching practices, leadership, and a commitment to professional growth as a teacher. March, 2021​

• April 2021: Awarded a Graduate Teaching Fellowship, and taught IST 402 Community Informatics (Emerging Technologies)​

• June 2020: Started a summer UXR internship with Facebook on the Ads and Business Platform team

• May 2019: I passed my Dissertation Proposal! 

• August 2017: Welcome to Penn State! I am starting my PhD in Information Sciences and Technology under Dr. John M. Carroll. Excited to be part of the College of IST.​​​
